Our traditional BL type glazing bar is extruded to our own design and has been developed over many years to meet the needs of specifiers for an effective solution for enveloping buildings.
The glazing bars strength is provided by an external stalk (or web) and can be weathered by a choice of extruded aluminium screw on caps or extruded aluminium bolted on wings.
This system readily accepts single glazing and double glazed units up to 32mm thick. The maximum self supporting span achievable is 4.70 metres for single glazing systems or 3.65 metres for a typical double glazed application.
This system will not comply with the Building Regulations Part L without using 'Trade Offs' due to the high percentage of the section residing in the external environment.
Our Traditional patent glazing system remains our customers most popular choice for use on unheated spaces such as Railway Stations, glazed canopies and covered ways where thermal properties are not relevant.
We have completed many large contracts on high profile railway stations at
Marylebone, Earls Court, Paddington, Fulham Broadway, Darlington, Sheffield
Midland, Manchester Victoria, York, Hull Paragon any many more. All have
been carried out using our Traditional BL type aluminium glazing bars using a
variety of single glazed products.
